Te Noho Kotahitanga is our partnership document created in 2001 to express Unitec's commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi as the founding document of New Zealand. Te Noho Kotahitanga confers equal standing on Māori and non-Māori as described by the principles and values inherent in the agreement. These values are at the very centre of Unitec’s purpose, as stated in Manaakitia te Rito – the Renewal Strategy: Led by Te Noho Kotahitanga; we manaaki the success of our learners and communities.
Our Purpose
To encourage attendance at social activities and events by Te Roopu Whakangāhau Social Club members and their whanau and to increase participation and interaction between all Te Roopu Mataara and the members of Te Roopu Whakangāhau.
Our Goals:

To organise a regular activity or event for Te Roopu Whakangāhau Social Club members (depending on funds);

To increase social club membership;

To provide responsible management of Te Roopu Whakangāhau Club members' funds and to provide regular reports to the main Te Roopu Whakangahau committee.
Te Roopu Whakangāhau social club is open to all Māori staff at Unitec.
Te Roopu Whakangāhau is a subsidiary of Te Roopu Mataara and exists to provide social events for members and their whānau. A membership fee applies.
Te Roopu Whakangāhau has responsibility:-

To keep records and accounts of expenditure

To provide financial statements at Te Roopu Mataara hui.
